LA County Fair

It's Fair time. Mike and I look forward to the Fair every year. The last few years have been a little harder because of young kids but this year was pretty fun. The kids got to enjoy the rides and seemed to have a good time (minus a few melt downs).

First cotton candy experience for Addison....
she didn't like the sticky-ness of it but....
she REALLY loved the way it tasted!

Mike took the kids into the petting zoo part of the fair.
Carissa wasn't too happy about the animals being so close and personal!

70th Birthday

Saturday, we celebrated my father-in-law's 70th birthday. It was a surprise party but we are pretty sure he had some idea what was going on! It was nice. We decorated the backyard and had his friends and family over.
This is when he walked outside....we didn't yell surprise but I think he still was a little surprised to see everyone in his backyard!

The cake did not only look great, but it tasted great too.

Happy 70th Birthday to a wonderful father and grandfather!
We Love You!!

All Curls

I thought it would be fun to curl Carissa's hair before we cut it. She keeps asking to cut it like mine. I have been putting it off but maybe if I cut it short now, later on she will want long hair! I always had long hair as a kid and the older I got, the shorter my hair would get. So hopefully it will work the opposite way for Carissa!

It took about 25 minutes and she sat there, happy as can be because it was going to make her look pretty, according to her! It looked really cute but we went to my father-in-laws birthday party and it was outside......on a very hot day. The curls couldn't stand up to the heat and pool water! I loved it while it lasted.

Out of Camden's Mouth

Driving home from church today, Camden says,"My class was really short today. Was yours?" I tell him that it felt like it to me too. Then he thinks a minute and says, "Yeah, I think it was Fast Sunday today."
I love the stuff kids come up with!

Happy Birthday to my Baby

Yesterday was Addison's 2nd birthday. We went to church and after the kids napped, we made sugar cookies. Addison loved the cookie cut outs. But I think that her favorite part was eating them!

I can't believe that my baby is already two years old. We celebrated last month and Mike was at work so making cookies was a great way to enjoy one another and celebrate Addison's birthday.

First Day of Kindergarten

What a handsome boy!! All grown up. Today was Camden's first day of kindergarten. He was so excited.

I am usually the one to brush Camden's hair but today he told me he would do it. I asked him if he wanted help and he said "No. I am in kindergarten now so I need to do it myself." He did a good job too. Good thing he has short hair!
In line to walk to his classroom
Here is his teacher. She seems nice.
After I picked him up, the first thing he said was that he made a friend. His name is Jacob. I hope Camden will have a great Kindergarten experience!

T-Ball Pictures

The kids took pictures for T-Ball. They all looked so cute.
These pictures are going to be their individual pictures....only much better. I snapped a couple of shots with my little digital camera so that Mike could see some pre-photos.

First Day of T-Ball

Today was Camden and Carissa's first practice. They have the same coach as they did for soccer and so they already knew most of the kids. (all the parents love coach Dawn, so we follow her to every sport!) We met Dawn last year when Camden played t-ball. This year is Carissa's first time playing t-ball. They both did really well, even though it was pretty hot and very humid.

It was so cute....there were a few girls, including Carissa, that had pink gloves and they all thought that was pretty cool. The Pink Glove Girls.

Camden's favorite sport so far has been baseball. He is very good at it too. He has started hitting fast pitches that Mike throws to him. T-ball is a little different because he is used to hitting balls that we have pitched to him. This will be his last year of t-ball. We will put him in a coach pitch league next year.

Howdy Partner!

Camden has a box of boy dress up stuff that we gave him last Christmas. He pretty much has only played with the policeman costume. A few days ago, after his quiet time, he came down stairs wearing his cowboy costume. He looked so cute and of course the first thing he said to me was "Howdy Partner!"

Cool Park

I had recently told Mike that I wished there was a park around us that had a canopy over it so that during the summer we wouldn't fry. As he was driving around in his patrol car, Mike found one! So on his day off we took the kids there. I was really happy about that because it is so hard to go to the park during the hot, hot summer. It was fun and kind of secluded so we were the only ones there. The kids enjoyed finding a new park to go to.

They had some fun new things like this cool rock to climb up. You can sort of see the canopy too.
